“What a wonderful hue – the colour of a black baccara rose but smelling of a Mr Lincoln rose with added spice notes from pepper, licorice and cloves.  The palate opens with a flurry of boysenberries, plums, full-bodied but restrained thanks to judicious oak use (French barriques for 15 months with just 10% new) and the clincher, detailed, fine tannins.  There’s an elegance to this and all up’ it’s a beautifully composed, distinctly Barossa Shiraz.”
