94+ Points The Wine Front
“Medium deep crimson. A beautiful and expressive Barossa Shiraz with fragrant dark berry dark chocolate aromas, underlying roasted chestnut notes and star anise nuances. The palate is supple and generous with intense ripe blackberry, dark cherry fruits, superb inky density and fine looseknit silky/ chalky tannins. A classic modern Barossa Shiraz with modulated power and elegance." Andrew Caillard MW
Mike Bennie – The Wine Front, tasted: November 2020
“One of those ‘elegant’ Barossa shiraz that celebrates heartland depth and concentration but finds detail, a ripple of fine, silty tannins and offers shape and detail to elevate the offering. Medium weight with plummy fruit, a dusting of warm, brown spice, a touch of walnut and dark chocolate in the mix, panforte comes to mind, and there’s a little attractive salt bush and char to finish. Long, lively and tightly wound, but enough succulent yield to seduce. Beautiful shiraz from any angle.”

Variety and Provenance:
100% BAROSSA VALLEY SHIRAZ
Rosenzweig Estate, Barossa Valley and Lienert of Mecklenburg Vineyard, Barossa Valley
In a combination of open and closed stainless-steel vats. Partial whole bunch fermentation with regular pumping over and pigeage to optimise colour and flavour without over-extraction.
After around 10 days of post fermentation maceration, the wine was pressed off and racked into a combination of seasoned and new French oak barriques for 18 months to allow the fruit to develop richness, volume and complexity. A further two year’s bottle age to bring completeness.
