95 Points - The Wine Front
“Medium deep crimson. Fragrant jasmine, dark cherry, mulberry aromas with vanilla new oak notes. A pure expression of mataro with generous dark cherry, dark plum, mulberry favours, plentiful fine supple graphite/ slinky textures and integrated savoury oak complexity. Finishes chalky firm with persistent dark fruits and beautiful mineral length. A benchmark vintage with the density and vigour to age well.” Andrew Caillard MW
Mike Bennie – The Wine Front, tasted: November 2020
“Rich, savoury red of medium weight, fine grip and general sense of vitality. Redolent of dark berries, char and pot pourri with faint game meat notes wafting around. The palate is brighter than expected from that sweet earthy hit of perfume, lifted on blood orange acidity and cinched with a web of fine and firming, feathery tannins. It’s deeply flavoured yet filigreed and fresh. A succulent, delicious and classy red of strong regional character. A delight.”
